Ethereal means heavenly or spiritual, but not only that, it means delicate in nature.

I loved the idea of making something equally as impactful as my splatter paintings. Inspired, I decided to explore a softer approach to the canvas. I found I could not sleep, my mind was focused on finding the “thing” I was called to do...to create... to paint...what was it? I began seeing delicate, angelic like figures in my dreams and meditations. I knew with everything in me that they were positive forces of energy pushing through to message me. Trying to reach my mind, body and soul, so that they could rise from my subconscious into my conscious.

I listened to softly composed piano music in my studio and began to mix my paints, yet I didn’t realize at the end how these colors came to be. I wet my raw canvas and began to touch lightly down on it with my hands, I found myself engrossed in it, not really thinking, but just doing what I was led to do. I could feel the moment it was finished, slowly I moved away from my new found love. I was in complete and utter awe, my angel that had made her appearance in only my head, heart and soul was here, before me, in my art. I had brought her out of the world I had shared with only her and that I now can share with you.

Pushing Through the Light is exactly what I saw this heavenly being doing, therefore I couldn’t have named it anything but. I believe in more than what you can see in this physical world, there is no way I could have brought her to life otherwise. My Ethereal paintings represent a strong love of something made for good, an entity which we don’t commonly see in this world, but the truth of knowing is what is really important, that this was a glimpse of a divine messenger.
